Proper scuba diving equipment maintenance is very important and crucial for a dive centre to guarantee safe diving trips to their divers.
Diving equipment is continously submerged in salt and chlorinated pool water so unless it is properly maintained it will start to decay and become unsafe.
Here at Khao Lak Scuba Adventures our 2 in-house technitians are using the low season from 15. of October until 15 of May, where no diving is offered, to service each of our 200 Scubapro regulator sets and Scubapro BCD's. Additional we open and visual inspect our 400 aluminium tanks, unmount and clean the valves, clean the tanks inside and if necessary perform the hydrostatic test. Mask and snorkels are metacusly cleaned as well.
Good post-dive equipment minimizes the risk of gear-related issues the next time you dive. After your liveaboard trip with The Manta Queen Fleet at the Similan and Surin Islands your equipment will be rinsed and checked for proper functionality. Our equipment is your lifeline underwater, so keeping it in working is of outmost importance to us.
When considering to choose a dive centre to enroll in a dive trip ask the dive centre about their dive equipment and demand proof of the annual or manufacturer maintenance intervals. Dive equipment can fade over the time and look old, that does not mean the equipment is not good to use anymore. If a dive centre has new looking rental equipment set's maybe they are using it less, it does not automatically mean it is well maintained!
