MANTA QUEEN 5 Trip Number 62

On the 9th of December Manta Queen 5 set off on its 3 day 3 night Similan Island Liveaboard trip.

On the first day we awoke surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Similan Islands and it's blue waters. We started the day off with a lovely dive at Anitas Reef where we saw plenty of blue spotted rays, garden eels, morays and cleaner wrasse. The second dive was at the beautiful West of Eden where we visited the resident spearing mantis shrimp, who lives among the beautiful gorgonion sea fans and glass fish. The third dive was at a dive site called Deep Six where we saw ribbon eels, morays and plenty of fusiliers. To end off a stunning day of diving we plunged into the water one last time for a night dive at Hideaway Bay where we saw octopus, morays and even a sting ray.

Day two started with a dive at the well known Elephant Head Rock, the Similan Island Archipelago most stunning dive spot, where we enjoyed all the big boulders, swim throughs and even a turtle eating. Dive two was at North Point where we got to see some pigmy pipehorses. Dive three was at the lovely Christmas Point where some groups were lucky enough to see the elusive napoleon wrasse and some awesome nudibranches. The last dive of the day was at Turtle Rock, where we enjoyed the maze of swim throughs it had to offer.

Day three started off at the beautiful Koh Bon Island, with a nice relaxed dive at Koh Bon Hin Luang where we visited the resident stonefish called Stewie and saw plenty off fish action, catching their breakfast. The second dive was at the Koh Bon West Ridge where we enjoyed plenty of octopie and even three napoleon wrasse cruising by. To end it all off the jumped into the water once more on the way back to mainland at the Boonsung Wreck where huge schools of fish surrounded us. We saw plenty of scorpion fish, lionfish, moray eels, honey combed morays and blue spotted stingrays. Happy, but tired everyone headed back to the Khao Lak Scuba Adventures dive centre after a fantastic trip.

Congratulations to Jon and Stina for completing their PADI Open Water Course with Chris. Congratulations to Franziska and Marvin for completing their PADI Advanced Open Water Course with Laura. Congratulations to Faraz for completing their PADI Advanced Open Water Course with Gary.

We hope everyone had an amazing time and that we see them again soon.

Safe travels and happy bubbles.
