My name is Maher (or “My Hair”), I am 32 years old and I am French/Algerian origin. I have an Engineering degree and worked for large insurance companies for more than 6 years.
A few years ago, I chose to change my life and become a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor and found exactly what I was looking for; the job and life I have always been dreaming of.
I have been diving in the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, Adriatic Sea, Caribbean, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and South-East Asia.
This is my second season in Thailand working as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor for Khao Lak Scuba Adventures. I came to work at Khao Lak Scuba Adventures as a PADI Divemaster and soon decided to take part in their PADI Instructor Development Course with famous PADI Course Director Thien X Do and the Go Pro Team of the dive centre. The 2 week course was very challenging but also lots of fun. After the 2 day PADI Instructor Examination I finally became a PADI Dive Instructor.
I have 2 specializations and I am planning to get my PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer this year with Khao Lak Scuba Adventures. I can teach in French, English and Arabic. I always try to make my courses enjoyable but my advice to all my students is: Scuba Diving is fun but safety first!
You can also find me on-board the Manta Queen Fleet as a dive guide on any of the 7 Manta Queen boats. I love diving the Similan Islands. Most fascinating for me is the unique underwater landscape I have not seen before in many other places around the world. Huge granit boulders and amazing underwater rock formations covered by corals and sea fans with myriads of fish. Also the Manta Rays at Koh Bon are one of my favorites in this dive location. Certainly a must see for a diver!
