Manta Queen 1 trip number 156

Because of the ongoing weather situation Mark and I decided to break the usual schedule and begin our trip straight away at Koh Bon Island. Check dive and west ridge done and off we where to Koh Tachai Island. The dome gave us once again a magic dive. Around one hour on and off with 2 Manta Rays. Amazing, this is why we go diving!!! Night dive at Koh Tachai reef made a perfect day complete.

On day 2 we tried our luck again at the dome, this time less lucky in terms of Mantas, but still a lot of fish to see. The weather kept being nice so we went to Richelieu Rock trying to find Jaque Cousteau. Haha we couldn't find him. First dive at Richelieu Rock was awesome and we saw a lot of stuff, including a cuttlefish sexparty. Because the condition in dive 3 was not perfect we decided to go back to Koh Tachai Island and dived the bay with a sunset-to-night dive. 40 minutes later we had 22 very happy guest on board.

Day 3 started with no current at Koh Tachai the dome. Lots of fish but no Manta. On our way back to the south we stopped at north ridge Koh Bon Island for a beautiful drift dive on the north ridge. As the current was picking up in the Similan Islands as well, we had a fly over Christmas point alias Christmas tree awesome experience for everyone. A Beach visit, a sunset dive at Donald Duck Bay & a decompression beer afterwards and the whole boat was ready for bed. Very important to mention - all my Nitrox students passed their PADI Nitrox test. Well done to Paul and to my favourite family on board - Kristina, Josephine, Mike & Chris. Well done guys!

Our last day started with some amazing soft corals at 3 trees. Awesome drift & amazing dive site. My favourite dive site in the Similan Islands never let's me down!
Than quick drive to Koh Bon Island, because we had set up a "good bye" meeting with our friends the Mantas. 2 of them. Not bad for a last day. On the Boonsung Wreck our 11!!!! PADI Advanced Open Water students finished their advanced course. Happy days for everyone. Thank you all very much for an awesome trip!!!

Also I'd like to say thank you to Mark and Li who did an amazing teaching job - 16 courses between us 3.

The team of Khao Lak Scuba Adventures says thank you to all our amazing divers for such a wonderful liveaboard trip
