3 days and 3 nights liveaboard Manta Queen 5 spotted WHALESHARK at Koh Bon Island

Manta Queen 5 left the pier on the 30rd of January for another 3 day / 3 night trip at the Similan Islands.

On board were divers from France, Sweden, Australia, Russia and Hong Kong. After a good meal and a good sleep we arrived at Koh Bon Island for our first dive. The first dive of the trip is always a check dive, nice and easy for everyone, so you can imagine our surprise when some of our divers see a WHALESHARK right on that first dive!!!!

Happy faces all around and high expectations for our second dive which is also on Koh Bon. Only this time mr. Whaleshark decides not to show himself, so we are left with just a beautiful dive site with lots of marine life. Our third dive we are on Koh Tachai Island where the visibility is amazing and there’s lots of activity. We end the day with a night dive and after a fantastic meal we go to sleep, excited for the next day.

Our second day starts on Koh Tachai and we dive Richelieu Rock the rest of the day. As usual Richelieu Rock does not disappoint with its beautiful soft corals, great visibility and variety of marine life, there’s sea horses, ghost pipefish, lots of octopus, schools of batfish, baracuda’s, fusiliers and snappers, a big lobster and so much more.

Our chefs Noi and Lek surprise us once again with the most delicious food. We all agree this is definitely restaurant quality! After a great sleep we wake up to one more dive on Koh Bon and two wreck dives at Boon Sung Wreck. Cuttlefish, stingrays, squid, honeycomb morays, many nudibranchs and lots more.

Congratulations to Stephanie, Cecilia, Veronique and Matthieu for completing your PADI Advanced Open Water Course, well done.

Thank you all for joining our Manta Queen Liveaboard Fleet
